Mattioli Arena

The Mattioli Arena is a multipurpose event space in Leicester. It is used for various PDC dart events on the regular season schedule.

Major Darts Tournaments & Events at Mattioli Arena

  1. PDC World Grand Prix

    • The World Grand Prix (sponsored by BoyleSports in 2025) is held at Mattioli Arena.

    • For 2025, it takes place from 6-12 October.

    • Format is “double in, double out” (players must start each leg with a double or bullseye as well as finish on one) and matches are played in sets.

    • Prize fund in 2025: £600,000, with the winner getting £120,000.

  2. PDC Women’s Series

    • Events 5-8 in 2025 were held at Mattioli Arena on 8-9 March.

    • Winners included Beau Greaves, Kirsi Viinikainen, Lisa Ashton, Robyn Byrne among others.

  3. Players Championships / Challenge Tour / Pro Tour / Behind-Closed-Doors Events

    • Mattioli Arena hosts a number of ProTour / Players Championship events, though many of these are behind closed doors (i.e. no general spectators) or have limited public access.

    • Examples: Players Championship 28-30, etc.

  4. Other Darts Shows / Exhibitions / Independent Events

    • The “Armageddon XL” show planned for 8 May 2026 at Mattioli Arena. It appears to be a darts-event with a fan zone, meet and greet, etc.

    • “World Champions, An Evening With…” (an exhibition / Q&A plus meet-ups) with top names like Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries etc.

Venue & Event Logistics (Mattioli Arena Specifics)

  • Seating / Entry / Layout

    • For the World Grand Prix event, entry is only via “Memory Lane” — that is the designated access route for that event.

    • The venue is cashless — major credit/debit cards or mobile payments only.

    • For the Grand Prix, they introduced an outdoor zone in 2025, with additional food & bar stations, toilets, and a smoking area.

  • Parking & Transport

    • No public car parking is available at the Arena during the Grand Prix event, nor along Memory Lane. Attendees are advised to use the nearby public car parks.

  • Doors / Times

    • Doors for the World Grand Prix open at different times depending on the day of the week (4:30pm on early days, later for other sessions).

  • Capacity / Venue Type

    • Mattioli Arena is described as Leicester’s largest indoor venue. It hosts concerts, sports, etc.

    • For the Grand Prix and similar major darts events, it is configured for spectator access; for many Pro-Tour / Players’ Championship type events, it’s behind closed doors.
